HMRC and Companies House filings are all made online, so being near your accountant makes no difference to what gets filed or when. If regular face-to-face meetings matter to you, a local firm may suit you better, and we would rather say so than pretend otherwise.

Do I need an accountant in my own town?
For most self-employed people and small companies, no. Self Assessment, Corporation Tax, VAT and Companies House filings are all made online, and your records can be shared through accounting software. A local office mainly matters if you want regular face-to-face meetings.
How much does an accountant near me cost?
GoForma's fees are fixed and monthly. Packages for sole traders start at £22 a month and for limited companies at £28 a month, excluding VAT, with FreeAgent accounting software included.
