<b>Job Title: Digital Technical Architect Senior</b><br><br><b>Job Type: Contract/ Temporary</b><br><br><b>Duration: 220 days</b><br><br><b>Rate: £ 745 per day</b><br><br><b>Location: Cheltenham</b><br><br><b>IR35 Status: In scope</b><br><br><b>Security Clearance: DV Check will be required before starting</b><br><br><b>Description:</b><br><br>The post holder will have a very privileged insight into how information systems used by Defence Intelligence work with the rest of the UK Intelligence Community.<br><br>The lead Architect is an initial embed, who helps Defence to remain aligned with national partner's high side, including their "cloud" architectures. The post is based with our national partner in Cheltenham and is expected to travel to Abbeywood / Corsham, and other UK sites.<br><br><b>The post holder will be required to:</b><br><br>(a) Facilitate regular "a technical coherence" meeting between the enterprise architects / enterprise design authority & key partners across government's, "Tech Director's"<br><br>(b) Create a roadmap of how and when the community needs to reman either interoperable or integrated teams.<br><br>(c) Work with Enterprise Architects to look at the totality of Defence uses cases and staffing recommendations to customer or CAP.<br><br>(d) Provide a status update to the "AS Align Capability Working Group (CWG)"<br><br>(e) When approved, recruit additional embedded team to cover all the uses cases. This includes future AS Voice & VTC and next generation networks.<br><br>(f) Report weekly to their Defence Digital, Line Manager, the Enterprise Architect lead for Intelligence and Above Secret Systems.<br><br>(g) Produce artefacts that are presented to a “light touch” “Arch / Solution governance boards”.<br><br>(h)  When required, produce a Record of Actions & Decisions<br><br>The intention is to move the "culture" from designing similar capabilities to in our respective architectures and have a common understanding how they are evolving over time.<br><br>You will champion the use of the Architecture Operating Model and the adoption of associated processes, tools and information and support or lead, as directed, the development and exploitation of architecture guidance (Strategy, Policy, Models and Patterns) for use across the AS programme(s) over the coming years.<br><br>A key part of this role will be to lead and demonstrate the application of best practice such as TOGAF and ITIL and to identify, support and mentor talent within the Architecture Practice to improve the quality of architects, including collaborative approaches with the other partners. As a Senior Architect, you will also be expected to provide SME guidance and support to the Defence IT Design Authority and work with industry and wider Government to establish and promote Defence Enterprise Architectures and re-use of Core Architectural Components.<br><br>Please ensure your submitted CV has all gaps in employment explained.
