Real friction we hear every week. Real fixes you'll feel within a month.
HMRC treats selling crypto, exchanging it for another token, spending it or giving it away as a disposal, each with a gain or loss in pounds. We work them all out from your transaction history.
Each sale is matched first with tokens bought that day, then with tokens bought in the next 30 days, then with the average cost of your pool. The Koinly licence included covers up to 25,000 transactions across all of them.
Crypto received from staking, mining, lending or liquidity pools is taxable income, valued in pounds when you receive it. Your accountant reports it alongside your gains.
Your 2025/26 return and any tax are due by 31 January 2027. If you are not already registered for Self Assessment, you must tell HMRC by 5 October 2026.
